美國經濟學家「末日博士」Nouriel Roubini，昨日 (8) 於推特表示：「加密貨幣比北韓還要中心化」。
紐約大學教授 Nouriel Roubini 向來發言極端，過去曾預言 2008 年經濟危機，近來則有對加密貨幣的諸多質疑。
在昨日的推特上，Roubini 表示：
加密貨幣去中心化是一個神話。這是一個比朝鮮更中心化的系統：礦工是中心化的、交易所是中心化的、開發者是中心化的獨裁者 (Buterin 是終身獨裁者) 。還有比特幣的吉尼不等式係數比北韓還糟。
註：Buterin 指以太坊創辦人 Vitalik Buterin ; 吉尼係數用於表示所得分配的平均度。

在這則貼文之後不久，再度發言強調比特幣的分配不平均比北韓還糟，是世上最糟的不平等。Roubini 甚至表示：
加密貨幣因其中心化與分配不均，擊敗了金正恩。

Nouriel Roubini 就曾對區塊鏈、加密貨幣提出質疑，今年八月在區塊鏈峰會 BlockShow 上，他曾表示：「加密貨幣一切皆空、區塊鏈沒必要。」與不同專家有精彩激辯。
Vitalik 正面回應
對於批判總是有問必答的以太坊創辦人，則回應 Nouriel Roubini：
我不認為這是一個公平的表述。如果你更深入地了解以太坊治理的實際過程，你會發現雖然技術精英確實存在 (其他加密貨幣也是一樣)。我的參與並不如表面所見的關鍵。
I don't think that's a fair characterization; if you look more deeply at the actual processes of ethereum governance you'll find that while a technical elite does exist (as in all cryptocurrencies), my own involvement is much less pivotal than it seems from the outside.

至於加密貨幣的吉尼係數，Vitalik 不否認這是個問題，但認為高數值的吉尼係數是誤導所致，並非事實。
Vitalik 表示，加密貨幣的分配不均，同時也包括對加密貨幣的「興趣」不均。他舉例擁有大提琴人口的吉尼係數必定也很高，但這不代表大提琴是只屬於權貴的。
對於中心化的礦工、交易所、開發者的中心化，Vitalik 也表示他們正在積極的開發不同方式來減緩這些現象。例如：去中心化交易所、權益證明等。
