不再需要擔心搞丟虛擬錢包了嗎？冷錢包公司 Ledger 技術長查爾斯（Charles Guillemet）16 日深夜發表 Ledger 新產品「Ledger Recover」，使用者只要通過雙重身分驗證（護照和身分證），輸入個人錢包私鑰後就能獲得備份私鑰。該私鑰將拆分成三個碎片分給三間公司獨立保管，使用者若私鑰丟失後，即可透過 Ledger Recover 向保管公司申請，恢復新的私鑰登入自己的虛擬錢包。
打破 Ledger 期待的是，社群許多人提出海量般的聲浪質疑 Ledger Recover 的安全性。

Ledger 私鑰備份軟體很酷，但卻遭社群質疑安全性、隱私性等問題
Ledger 在官方推特（Twitter）釋出自家技術長查爾斯私鑰備份服務「Ledger Recover」宣傳影片後，瞬間在社群掀起許多討論。當晚在 Ledger 推特直播語音空間中，查爾斯和執行長高蒂爾（Pascal Gauthier）親上火線表示，Ledger 不會持有、儲存任何人的私鑰。使用者透過 Ledger Recover 製作出來的私鑰碎片，將分別交給 Ledger、數位資產保護和保險提供商 Coincover，以及未具名的第三方備份服務商，在非本地伺服器保管，使用者需要用雙證件核實身分後，才能登入 Ledger Recover。
有網友指稱若未來 Ledger 倒閉，是不是代表自己的私鑰可能會外流，或是備份私鑰就無法使用？高蒂爾回應，即便 Ledger 真的不在了，這些私鑰碎片和備份私鑰仍可以使用，另外兩家公司將頂替倒閉公司的位子繼續服務，雖沒直接證實，但這三間公司彼此間可能有「連坐」跟「作保」的安全機制。
目前已知 Ledger Recover 將採訂閱制，但具體上線時間和訂閱費用均尚未公布。要讓虛擬錢包的使用者，一下就接受自己的私鑰交出去「備份」給一間公司保管，安全性、隱私性等問題的確需要一段時間的磨合，
